Does anyone remember when no one had 24/7 access to you?

When you could spend time with another human and actually pay full attention to them? At my age, I now have full appreciation of the pager era lol! Someone would page you and you could get back to them when you had a chance. When YOU had a chance. There has been a universal pivot to the wants of others, no? The way we allow 24/7 access in my opinion is a contributing factor to the increased stress that we all carry. You now not only have to be available to those that are in your household, in your workplace, but also to anyone and everyone who has your number saved in their phone. This adds to the expectations and obligations that you put on yourself. Can you unplug for an hour or does this give you anxiety? Can you turn your phone off and use an actual alarm clock so that you get better sleep at night? Can you set a do not disturb for a few hours so that you can look up, make eye contact, and carry a conversation at dinner? Let's talk about this. Thoughts?
